Slingshot is an app for iOS and Android that lets you quickly share fun moments—little and big—with all your friends.

It's a space where everybody is a creator and nobody is just a spectator. Because you have to send something to see something, Slingshot is a fun way to share everyday moments with lots of people at once. When everyone participates, there’s less pressure, more creativity and even the little things in life can turn into awesome shared experiences.

Slingshot is the second app from Facebook Creative Labs.

To add people to Slingshot follow the instruction below

Swipe down anywhere on the screen you use to take a shot to bring up your friends list
Tap Add People
Type in their username
Tap Add
You can also automatically add Facebook friends or phone contacts who use Slingshot too. Go to your Add People screen and tap Find friends via Facebook or Find people via phone contacts. Don’t worry-if you connect with friends via Facebook, Slingshot won't post anything to Facebook on your behalf.

If your friends aren't on Slingshot yet you can invite them to download the app:

iPhone: Go to your Add People screen and tap Invite People via SMS. If you invite people via SMS, you can edit the text message to say whatever you want.

Android: Go to your Add People screen and tap Invite People to Slingshot. This will give you the option to send invites to people through SMS or your other apps like Whatsapp.

To take a shot in Slingshot, aim your camera and tap Shoot. To take a video shot, press and hold Shoot.

If you don't like a shot, tap Reshoot and give it another go.

Before you take a shot you have two choices:

If it’s a bit dark, you can turn on your camera’s flash by tapping Flash on the left
If you want to switch between your front and back camera, tap Selfie on the right
After taking a shot, you can make it more interesting or funny by adding a caption and drawing. You don’t have to, but we think shots are best with a little extra creativity.

When you're done, tap Use to sling a shot. Pick which friends you want to share with by tapping on their names on the next screen, then tap Sling.

How does Slingshot work?

To get started on Slingshot, shoot a photo or video. It can be what you’re up to, who you’re with or a quick selfie. Add some text and color, then sling it to a bunch of friends.

Here’s the deal: friends won’t be able to see your shot until they sling something back to you. They can then reply with a reaction—or simply swipe your shot away.

Stay in touch: Capture photos and videos of moments you want to share with all of your friends
Go shot for shot: To unlock new shots, first you have to sling something back
Send a quick reply: After unlocking a shot, tap to respond with your reaction
Enjoy it while it lasts: Once you swipe a shot away or react, it’ll no longer be viewable
Get creative: Express yourself with captions and drawings
Look when you want: View unlocked shots later if you’re busy

Slingshot Goes International
Since we launched last week, we’ve heard from lots of people around the world who are excited to give Slingshot a try. Starting today, we’re expanding our initial launch and making Slingshot available internationally!

Photos and videos that don’t stick around forever allow for sharing that’s more expressive, raw and spontaneous. We can connect the same way we like to live: in the moment. We’ve enjoyed using Snapchat to send each other ephemeral messages and expect there to be a variety of apps that explore this new way of sharing. With Slingshot, we saw an opportunity to create something new and different: a space where you can share everyday moments with lots of people at once.
